Dental Care Tips from Carstairs Dentist

Dental Care in Carstairs Alberta

On April 30 Premier Jason Kenney released details of his phased re-launch strategy in Carstairs as COVID-19 hospitalizations begin stabilizing.  In his plan, he outlined that dental services, along with several other health services, were free to open on May 4, 2020 (as long as they follow their college’s guidelines).

This came as a surprise to many Carstairs dentists who had not yet heard of the reopening from the Alberta Dental Association and College. Later, the ADA&C responded to clarify that as of May 4th 2020,dentists of Carstairs will be able to provide urgent care in addition to emergent care.” Further stating that “as of May 14, provided the Carstairs Relaunch Strategy remains on track, dentists of Carstairs will be able to provide further services. It is anticipated this will expand to include non-urgent dental services.”

NEW ADULT PATIENT FORM | NEW CHILD PATIENT FORM

So what does this mean? It means that if you have a dental emergency, (meaning you have dental pain, infection, or have had a traumatic injury), have a cracked or chipped tooth needing repair, or any issues that require immediate attention – call your dentist!

In addition, our Carstairs dental clinics will resume seeing orthodontic patients currently undergoing active treatment. As we continue to monitor the evolving situation we will keep our patients and the community aware of further changes.

As it stands now, it seems that May 14, 2020 is the new proposed date of returning to offering non-urgent dental services for dentists in Carstairs.
